Stepping Out Against Domestic Violence

Yesterday, I was honored to get the opportunity to speak at a walk raising money for local organizations "stepping out against domestic violence."

I was really touched by all the personal stories I heard. It was a really powerful experience, one that I will hopefully remember for the rest of my life. I was able to meet women from programs all throughout Washington who had personally struggled with escaping domestic violence. Everyone working and volunteering was so kind and extremely welcoming. Whether it was offering me warm tea to or a cozy jacket, everyone was so sweet.

I had an absolute blast being a cheerleader, too!

I hope I'll be able to return next year and actually participate in the walk (without high heels) and watch this program grow.

I really hope that next year's Miss Washington's Outstanding Teen is able to participate in this amazing program.

On our way home we stopped by for a haircut (I was getting desperate) with Jake from Gene Juarez. Once again, my hair looks fabulous! Now, I'm prepared for the upcoming "pageant rush."
